At 18 years old, Bellis was named the WTA's "Newcomer of the Year" for 2017; ranked 35 as of August, 2017, Bellis was the youngest player in the top 50. Despite her 5 ft 7 in height, and slender frame, the teen can hold her own in forehand rallies with much bigger veteran players, and has exceptional speed and service returns.
